Join Our Seaweed Recipe Challenge!

As part of the Seaweed for Health Conference in Dar es Salaam this June, we’re inviting you to share how you use seaweed in your everyday cooking. Whether it’s a quick weekday dish or a favorite family recipe, we want to see it!

How to Participate:

  1. Record a short video or take a few photos of your go-to seaweed recipe. Show us how easy it is to incorporate seaweed into your normal kitchen routine.
  2. Post your recipe video (on for example youtube) and submit a link to it and/or send recipe and images (no larger than 1 MB ) to irishseaweedkitchen@gmail.com
  3. We will then post and upload them directly on our website at seaweedforhealth.org under the “Recipe Challenge” tab.

We’ll feature your submissions on the website so everyone can get inspired. Before the conference, we’ll also compile a small digital leaflet of some of the best everyday recipes, so you’ll have a handy guide to cooking with seaweed.

The winner’s dish will be cooked at the conference. The judges are the renowned and award winning seaweed cookbook authors Dr Prannie Rhatigan and Professor José Lucas Pérez Lloréns.

Let’s make seaweed a delicious part of everyone’s daily meals.

Please Include in your submission:

  1. Where do you live
  2. Where do you get your seaweed from - do you harvest it or buy it
  3. Is this seaweed native to your country?
  4. Is this a Traditional recipe of your country where you add seaweed or is it a newly developed recipe?
